Protests against ex-NNPCL boss Mele Kyari sponsored – Shehu Sani

Published on April 23, 2025 at 08:01 PM

Former senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, wrote off the protest held by some groups in Abuja against the former Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, as nothing but a sponsored project by some displeased or disgruntled oil interests.

DAILYPOST recalls that a group of protesters had on Tuesday stormed the office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, to demand the prosecution of former NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari.

Reacting on his verified Facebook page, Sani wrote: “I came across some protesters at the Federal Secretariat Abuja, raising placards against the ex NNPCL CEO Kyari. Most of the young guys there don't actually know what they were protesting about. They just joined.

“It's clearly a sponsored project by some displeased or disgruntled oil interests against Kyari.”
