Qatar 2022: Future England captain – Gary Lineker hails World Cup star

Published on December 12, 2022 at 12:43 AM

Former Barcelona striker, Gary Lineker, has lauded England midfielder, Jude Bellingham, after the Three Lions’ World Cup exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Saturday.

Lineker said that Bellingham is England’s future captain without any doubt after his performance for Gareth Southgate’s side at the World Cup in Qatar.

Bellingham, 19, featured as England lost 2-1 against France in the quarter-final tie at the Al Bayt Stadium.

Two goals from Aurelien Tchouameni and Olivier Giroud gave France the victory as Harry Kane’s penalty wasn’t enough for England.

After England’s defeat to France, Lineker reacted to a video of Bellingham sharing his thoughts on the game, tweeting on Twitter, “Without doubt, a future England captain. Such an impressive young man, on and off the pitch.”;
