Qatar 2022: I was paralysed, cried nonstop – Neymar explains aftermath of World Cup defeat to Croatia

Published on December 12, 2022 at 02:02 AM

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar has revealed that he was paralysed for ten minutes before bursting into tears after the Selecao’s World Cup dreams come to an end against Croatia on Friday.

Brazil shockingly gave it away to Croatia through a penalty shootout after the game ended 1-1 in full time and 30 minutes of extra time.

Neymar broke the deadlock in what seemed to have been the winning goal for the South Americans but a Bruno Petkovic strike in the 117th minute took the game to penalties.

The cameras captured Neymar shedding tears at the end of the game and had to be consoled by his teammates.

“Psychologically, this was certainly the defeat that hurt the most, which made me paralysed for 10 minutes and then I burst into tears nonstop,”; he wrote.

“It’s going to hurt for a long time, unfortunately. We fought until the end, and I’m proud of my teammates because there was no lack of commitment or dedication.”;
