Published on December 19, 2022 at 02:58 AM

Argentina captain, Lionel Messi, has insisted he won’t retire from international football after winning the 2022 World Cup.

The 35-year-old was widely expected to confirm that the game would be his last for his country.

But Messi has made it clear he will keep on representing the national team.

Messi told TyC Sports: “No, I’m not going to retire from the national team.

“I want to keep playing as World Cup champion with Argentina shirt.”;

The Paris Saint-Germain star scored twice as the final ended 3-3 after 120 minutes.

Two quickfire goals from his PSG teammate, Kylian Mbappe, forced extra time, where both players scored one each before the match was decided on penalties.
