Qatar 2022: Supercomputer names two countries to play World Cup final as Messi, Ronaldo clash

Published on October 28, 2022 at 12:24 PM

A supercomputer used by BCA Research has predicted that Argentina and Portugal will play the final of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Argentina are being led by Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi, while Cristiano Ronaldo is the captain of Portugal.

The Sun reports that the experiment used EA Sports FIFA video game player statistics and a sample of all real-life matches from the last four World Cup tournaments to finalise its prediction.

The supercomputer then predicted that Messi would emerge winner of the World Cup, beating Ronaldo and Portugal.

England, according to the Computer, will make the semi-finals but bow out to Portugal on penalties.

35-year-old Lionel Messi and 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo are playing in their final FIFA World Cup tournament.
