‘It looks as dry as Qatar’ – Fans shocked by £7 chicken shawarma sold at World Cup clash between Switzerland vs Cameroon

WORLD CUP fans are disgusted by the food on offer in Qatar.

Much of the food has been overpriced and underwhelming, with eyebrows raised at a “s***show” £9 greek salad.

Fans are unimpressed with the chicken shawarma at the Al Janoub Stadium
The Middle Eastern speciality is priced at £6.80

Qatar has once again come under fire, this time for the chicken shawarma available at the Al Janoub stadium for Switzerland vs Cameroon.

The Middle Eastern classic is sold for £6.80 – a relative bargain by Qatari standards.

But fans were left dismayed as the filling leaves a lot to be desired.

There is very little chicken in the wrap and the lack of sauces or salad has sparked a big backlash.

One football fan commented: “It’s a big NO from me.”

Another added: “Looks as dry as Qatar.”

And a third said: “That’s not Chicken mate…”

Another wrote: “There is no good World Cup food, I’m convinced, it’s all c***.”

From expensive tiny burgers to overpriced nachos, there has been no shortage of disappointing food in Qatar.

Supporters were also outraged by the terrible breakfast on offer to guests who are staying in the £200-a-night fan village.

The package deal includes tent accommodation and a breakfast consisting of a sandwich, an apple, a “potato-looking” muffin and a doughnut.

Guests also receive a carton of juice and a bottle of water but the sad-looking package has been met with fierce criticism.
