Racing delayed at Ayr due to ‘medical emergency in the crowd’

RACING has been delayed at Ayr due to a ‘medical emergency' in the crowd.

The second race on the day is due off at 2.05pm but has been pushed back indefinitely.

This is the first day of Ayr's blockbuster two-day Scottish Grand National meeting – their biggest festival of the year.

Racing TV presenter Gordon Brown said: “There's going to be no more than a short delay we hope due to a medical emergency in the grandstand.

“The paramedics are currently attending to someone.

“It has been dealt with very quickly but we know no more than that.”
