Remo Stars goalie Bankole proud to captain Super Eagles vs Costa Rica

Remo Stars goalkeeper, Kayode Bankole can’t hide his excitement after he captained the Super Eagles in the friendly against Costa Rica on Thursday morning.

The young goalie was surprisingly handed the captain’s band for the encounter at the National Stadium, San Jose and he led by example by making a number of superb saves despite the Super Eagles going down to a 2-0 defeat.

The second-string Super Eagles side put up a good fight in the game despite the defeat.

Bankole was replaced by Nathaniel Nwosu 13 minutes from time.

The 20-year-old took to social media to celebrate his captaincy.

“A good learning curve vs Costa Rica for the team.Happy to have captained the Super Eagles B.

#OnlyGod ,”; he wrote on his Twitter handle.
