ROBERT MacINTYRE was so thrilled to get his latest Masters invite that he treated his local postman AND two of his pals to a slap-up meal!
The star — who is fiercely proud of his roots in the remote Scottish town of Oban — cooked a traditionaldinner of haggis, neeps and tatties.
And he followed it up by serving pancakes with maple syrup to celebrate his victory in last year’s Canadian Open.
MacIntyre, 28, posted a video of it on his X account, and said it was “brilliant fun to do”;.
He said: “I did something similar a few years ago with a video of me searching the streets of Oban for the postie, looking for the invitation Augusta sends out in the post, and it went down really well.
“It was a way of showing off Oban as well as showing how much it means to get that letter from — not just to me but to everyone in the game who is lucky enough to qualify.
“It’s all tongue-in-cheek stuff and after I missed out on The Masters for the last couple of years I thought I should do something again now that I’m back.
“Look, as a Scotsman I love The Open to bits, as well as the Scottish Open, naturally.
“But there’s definitely something about The Masters that captures people’s imagination.
“I think for a lot of people it’s a bit like meets !
“And to be fair, we feel the same kind of excitement about going there. Hopefully the videos capture that.”;
MacIntyre even pokes fun at his own good fortune when he won the Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club last year — with the help of a bizarre free drop in the final round.
He hit his tee shot at the par-five 16th into deep rough and faced the prospect of hacking the ball out, seriously damaging his hopes of overhauling leader Adam Scott.
But when he took his stance, MacIntyre found he was standing on a sprinkler head!
It would not have been an issue for a right-handed golfer. But the Scottish leftie pointed out to officials that his shoe was slipping on the sprinkler, and he was allowed a free drop.
With a much better lie, MacIntyre managed to blast a seven iron 247 yards downhill and on to the green. The ball finished just 6ft from the flag and he holed the putt. His eagle proved the turning point as he saw off Scott’s challenge.
And, after dusting the pancakes with icing sugar in his latest video, he turned to the camera and grinned: “I love a sprinkler!”;
He added: “I know how lucky I got with that one.
“But it was the correct ruling and you still have to take advantage of it if you get a bit of good fortune.
“You get enough bad breaks, but something like that tells you that maybe it was meant to be your day.
“And what a day. I celebrated so long and hard I had to push back my press conference ahead of The Open the following week. I still had a sore head when I finally made it to Troon.”;

MacIntyre’s victories in Canada and North Berwick propelled him into the top 20 of the world rankings.
And the Scot has stayed there with some eye-catching performances on the PGA Tour this year.
He heads into Augusta on the back of a tied-11th finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and a share of ninth at The Players Championship.
That suggests he is running into form at just the right time — and he knows Augusta suits his game.
He said: “I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable I felt there when Ifinished 12th on my debut in 2021.
“Even though I didn’t play quite as well when I was tied for 23rd the following year, it was still a challenge I enjoyed.
“So yeah, I’m hoping for another good week this time — and an invite back for 2026!”;
