‘I think she’d come around’ – Roman Fury reveals why even Tyson’s wife Paris will be on board for Anthony Joshua fight

ROMAN FURY expects even Paris to come around to the idea of husband Tyson returning to fight Anthony Joshua.

The Gypsy King looked on course for a Great British double header with AJ this year after two losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024.

But those plans went up in smoke after Tyson announced a shock retirement in January – which left even his younger brother stunned.

Roman, 28, said: “I was as surprised, that's Tyson, isn't it?

“One day, one minute he's thinking one thing and the next minute he's doing another thing.

“That's just the way his mind works. He could wake up tomorrow and decide he's coming back to boxing.

“We just don't know. But that's the exciting thing, when looking at him, isn't it?

“So we'll just have to see, what happens next, but I can see him coming back definitely.

“I just think there's another big fight out there that we all want to see that needs to happen.

“So it's just a case of getting the money right and getting everything else sorted but I don't think he'll stay retired for too long.”

Roman – a 4-0 boxer himself – admits he joins the nation in wanting brother Tyson, 36, to settle the score with Joshua, 35, once and for all.

He said: “For me, he doesn't need to come back. He's got enough money to last lifetimes. He's proved everything. He's won all the titles.

“So it's just a case of whether he can just sustain the lifestyle that he's living now, because obviously he's been to the highest highs and now just kind of living a normal life.

“So it's if he gets that itch again, to come out and do it.

“But the only thing that I'm looking at that will pull him back is that Anthony Joshua fight, because I don't care what's happened, everyone still wants to see that fight. Including me.”

Tyson has continued to promise wife Paris that he will hang up the gloves for good.

But 28-year-old Roman reckons even Paris will be on board for the AJ super-fight.

He said: “I think she'd come around, yeah. You know, it's been talked about for how many years now.

“These two, the biggest fight in British boxing history, if you ask me. So I think it's just a matter of time and we'll see him.”

Roman was due to return to the ring on Saturday in Manchester against American TV star Chase DeMoor, 28.

But the bout has been postponed after headliner KSI, 31, was forced out of his fight against Dillon Danis, 31, due to illness.

Roman had expected big brother Tyson to be in attendance to inspire a best-ever performance.

Roman said: “It's good for him to come and watch because it does spur me on as well because when he's there.

“I want to do an extra good performance because he's the one that set it all off for us so it's only fair that that.”
