Rory McIlroy’s unbelievable car collection, from £240k Ferrari once owned by golf rival to humble £35k electric BMW

RORY MCILROY is a career grand slam champion – and he has the car collection to match.

The world No2 created golf history by in a play-off to win at his 17th attempt.

McIlroy, 35, won his first four majors between 2011 and 2014 and since his success in the 2014 PGA Championship he has 13 wins.

That means he has won big prize pots down the years, with estimates placing his net worth at £225million.

McIlroy also boasts a stunning , including one purchased off a golf pal .

Lamborghini Aventador

By far the most expensive car he has been seen driving, a Lamborghini Aventador is worth as much as £271,000.

It's the flagship Lamborghini – admired by footballers and McIlroy.

Flawless in design, it delivers 700 horsepower.

Incredibly, it goes from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds.

But it is not known if he ever owned this.

Ferrari F430

One car McIlroy does own is a rare collectable – the F430.

The F430 was only produced from 2004 to 2009 so only 15,000 units were ever produced.

He was spotted driving a F430 in 2013, with ex-girlfriendin the passenger seat.

Powered by a 4.3-litre V8 engine, the Ferrari F430 boasts 490 horsepower and 342 lb-ft of torque.

It has an astonishing top speed of 196 mph and goes from 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, with a valuation of £101,000.

Ferrari F12

McIlroy added to his Ferrari collection when he took the F12 off Poulter's hands.

Poulter posted a photo of the car in February 2018, saying he missed seeing his ‘old love' but knew it was in good hands with McIlroy.

Poulter wrote: “When you see your old love in the car park... and miss it...”

“This F12 was awesome, loved doing the Matte Grigio Silverstone paint and also on the rims, and the Matte Black roof... Interior Grey and burgundy.

“@rorymcilroy good to see it looking perfect... He knows a good car when he sees one.”

A brand new Ferrari F12 costs around £240,000 – it can reach 0-62 mph in 3.1 seconds.

BMW i8

As part of the promotion for their new electric range, BMW got in touch with McIlroy to see if he’d test drive the BMW i8 Hybrid whilst at the BMW championship in 2014.

McIlroy’s test of the BMW i8 was so successful that he ended up being given one.

McIlroy’s edition came with gull wings and the brag of being the fastest electric car in the world and joined his car collection next to the BMW M6 Gran Coupe that he’d previously bought.

The i8 hybrid starts at around £106,000 and has a top speed of 151mph.

Range Rover Sport

After his momentous win at in 2014, McIlroy celebrated by splashed the cash on a souped Range Rover Sport that was customised by Overfinch.

It was reportedly worth around £145,000 and looked sleek in black.

The Range Rover Sport is a particular favourite of the Premier League elite and McIlroy has been spotted driving it around Belfast.

BMW i3

McIlroy's affiliation with BMW began in 2013.

It's worth nothing this was also the first fully electric motor we saw him drive.

When it launched originally, it came with a base price of around £35,000.

However, the model has since been discontinued from 2021, with BMW concentrating on their SUV range for electric vehicles.

Fully charged, it can reach a range of 153 milies.

It can from 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds, so it's quite zippy for an electric motor.
