Sallah Celebration: NSCDC deploys 1, 300 personnel in Edo

Published on March 28, 2025 at 03:08 PM

The Edo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, said it would be deploying no fewer than 1,300 personnel for the Salah celebration.

DAILY POST reports that the Commandant, Agun Gbenga disclosed this on Friday in a statement made available to newsmen on his behalf by the Head Public Relations and Media Unit of the Command, Ogbebor Efosa in Benin City

Gbenga said the personnel would provide Maximum Security at various Eid-el-prayer grounds, palaces, monuments, and recreational centers across the state during the festival.

He said the command had expanded its Intelligence network with the view to nip in the bud any security threat in the state during the period.

He assured that the security of the lives and property of residents of the state before, during, and after the festival celebration remained the priority of the command.

“I have directed all commanders, heads of tactical units, area commanders, area commanders, and divisional officers to ensure smooth crime, crime-free, and secured celebration before, during, and after the Eid-Fitri festival,” he said.

The Commandant, however, appealed to members of the public to give maximum cooperation to the personnel as well as support them with useful information on criminal elements.
