He was appointed vice chairman and co-CEO in 2022, overseeing the company’s consumer electronics and mobile devices divisions.

In an internal message, Samsung paid tribute to Han, stating, “He dedicated more than 37 years of his life to leading Samsung’s TV business to become a global leader.”;

The company added, “Our deepest condolences are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”;

No announcement has been made regarding Han’s successor, according to the spokesperson.

According to CNN, Just last week, Han chaired Samsung’s annual investor meeting, where he addressed concerns about the company’s stock performance and economic uncertainties.

“There are some difficulties in doing semiconductor M&As due to regulatory issues and various national interests, but we’re determined to produce some tangible results this year,”; he said.

Han joined Samsung in 1988 after earning a degree in electrical engineering from Inha University.

Before leading the electronics and devices division, he managed the company’s display operations.
