A 20-year-old was subsequently charged with assault and will appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court in July.
Neither City or United have commented on the matter.
But cops are said to have immediately launched an investigation since the incident.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Alfie Holt, 20, of Haven Drive, Droylsden, has been charged with assault.
“He will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court.
“This charge relates to an incident which took place at yesterday.”
Jack and Sasha are childhood sweethearts having met at school aged 16.
