Shallipopi slammed with N200M lawsuit over illegal sampling of ‘Obapluto’ song

Veteran Edo singer, Pa Monday Igbinidu slams a whooping N200M lawsuit on the up-and-coming singer, Shallipopi over an illegal sampling of his song “Obapluto”;(N’ogbaisi).

This comes a week after the veteran singer called out the Shallipopi and his mother for deceptively reaching out to him and tipping him the sum of N50K after the song had already been recorded and published.

He was, however, given a week to make necessary arrangements, including acknowledging Pa Monday on the song.

Following the deadline, the legal team of Pa Monday Igbinidu slammed Shallipopi with a lawsuit to the tune of N200M for copyright infringement.

The title of the document reads, “Copyright infringement of the musical work of Monday Edosomwan Igbinidu alias Monday Edo Igbinidu- Demand to render account, compensation and an apology.”;
