A man was treated in hospital for his injuries, which have since been confirmed to be non-life threatening.

The dramatic footage shows a man in a white t-shirt kicking a man on the ground before being struck by a white Volvo.

As a man in a black t-shirt watches the scene unfold, the person filming is heard saying “oh sh***” as he witnesses the car mount the pavement.

After being hit by the car, the attacker is seen punching its rear window.

A local, who asked not to be named, told the Mail Online: “It was horrific, people were screaming. It was like something out of a nightmare.”

A spokesperson from the Met Police said: “On Tuesday, 25 March at 9.01pm police were called to St Pauls Way, E14 following reports of an altercation and road traffic collision.

“Police attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated a man before taking him to hospital. His injuries have been confirmed to be non-life threatening.

“Two men were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”

This comes as a dad-of-four died five days after he was reportedly brutally attacked outside a Wetherspoons pub.

Police rushed to the Mile Castle pub in Newcastle shortly before 8pm on Thursday evening, discovering Darren Tulip, 43, suffering from serious injuries.

He was treated at the scene before quickly being taken to hospital.

However, despite the best efforts of medical staff, the 43-year-old tragically passed away on Tuesday.

Darren's heartbroken family have started a fundraiser to help collect money for his funeral.

On theGoFundMepage, a statement from his family says: “As a lot of people would have seen Darren was involved in a incident that has now sadly lost him his life.

“He’s left behind his four babies, a devastated girlfriend, and a heartbroken family as well as so many friends that cared about and loved him.

“Darren took his last breaths surrounded by people that adored him and grew his wings on Wednesday, March 25.”

Northumbria Police earlier confirmed that two males in their 20s had been arrested in connection to the incident.
