FOR the past eight years Sir Tom Jones has been one of ITV’s biggest stars thanks to being a mentor on talent show The Voice.
But now the veteran crooner will mark his 85th birthday by telling his life story to the BBC.

The Delilah singer has decided the landmark programme will form part of the second series of BBC One’s In My Own Words shows.
Set to be filmed and on air later this year, the series will focus on another group of talented stars who will look back on their extraordinary personal and professional lives.
And since turns 85 in June, it seemed like the perfect time to get the Welshman involved in a retrospective on almost seven decades in showbusiness.
An insider said: “The new BBC Arts series made a big impression when it first aired last year, bagging some seriously credible names to profile.
“And they’ve performed the same feat for the follow-up season, drawing some of the biggest stars from the entertainment and creative industries.
“Though they’ll have to come up with some formidable talent to top having Sir Tom on the line-up.
“A look back at his incredible life will certainly make for interesting viewing for a generation of fans of , who only know him as a mentor on the show.
“They’ll probably be completely stunned when they see his incredible career outlined in detail, from singing with to recording the themes for films.”;
The debut series of In My Own Words, which aired in last year, brought together an elite group of creatives.
They included steamy book writer Dame Jilly Cooper, novelist and filmmaker Hanif Kureishi, comedian Sir and artist Alison Lapper.
So it looks like Sir Tom will be in good company in the second outingâ.â.â.â even if he isn’t necessarily in ITV’s good for doing it.
Walker on wild side for Tom

BEST not to keep new drama Havoc in your sights if you don’t like guns or violence.
The trailer for the thriller has just dropped and it’s packed with mass brawls, car chases and shootouts.
Which will no doubt thrill millions anticipating the bloody white-knuckle ride, when it drops on the streamer on April 25.
But it will probably have those of us with a nervous disposition hiding behind the sofa.
With the catchline “No Law. Only disorder”; the sees Tom play a detective battling his way through a criminal underworld that is threatening to engulf his home city.
Things reach a terrifying peak when a drug deal goes wrong and he finds himself, literally, caught in the crossfire between a syndicate and a corrupt politician.
How original.
Sacking's no joke for Daisy

SHE’S a BAFTA winning actress and writer â but that doesn’t mean has always found it easy to hold down a job.
Before finding TV fame, the comedian, who recently starred in Prime Video’s new game show Last One Laughing, admitted she was constantly getting fired for stealing or skiving.
And when she did have a job, she made most of her cash from her side-hustle of shoplifting.
Daisy told the Making A Scene podcast: “I did loads of that I got sacked from for stealing or not turning up. I stole a lot of Levis jeans from to sell them.
“I didn’t get caught â they were stupid really because the cameras in the shop were just those dummy cameras, those LED red flashing lights.
“I used to get a mate in, take the tags off, put them in a bag, and we’d just sell them.”;
Paddy's finding fitness

has teased the format of his new show â working up a sweat with fellow celebs.
Filming in a Greater gym, he plans to reveal the dietary and fitness secrets of the stars, focussing on their exercise regimes “from a non- expert view”;.
Paddy will work out with the celebs as they discuss their ideas.
He says it’s been an obsession of his for a while.
“I recall seeing one of the Gladiators at .
“I was following her around the dining room, seeing what she was putting on her plate.
“I thought, ‘Well, I’ll eat that and it will make me as strong and fit as she is’.
“But she was covering everything in ketchup and chips. I said, ‘This is not what I’d thought’.
“But that’s the interesting thing â everyone has an idea of what works.”;
Wow! Sounds like I share a diet plan with the Gladiators.
Here we go again, Jessops

THE sitcom Here We Go is poised to get a fourth series.
I understand contracts are set to be signed for a new season of the critically acclaimed mockumentary.
The show focusses on a family living in the town of Bedford, with Katherine Parkinson and Jim Howick as parents Rachel and Paul Jessop, and Alison Steadman as Paul’s mum, Sue.
It kicked off with a full series in 2022, before landing two further outings with the first airing in 2023 and the other due to go out this year.
Here We Go had initially aired as a one-off pilot called Pandemonium in 2020.
Nice to see it living up to the promise.
