South Park’s future on air finally revealed – after controversial animated comedy disappeared from screens for two years

SOUTH Park’s future on air is finally revealed after the controversial animated comedy disappeared from our screens for two years.

Season 26, which featured six episodes, premiered on the Paramount cable network in February 2023.

But fans will be relieved to know the animated show will return to Comedy Central, on Wednesday July 9.

The new trailer includes Randy saying: “Shelley have you been taking ketamine because I think it could really help you.”

There also houses on fire, multiple plane crashes and the toppling of the Statute of Liberty.

There also seems to be a mighty battle with Canada.

However, as to how many episodes the new season will have – well that's still under wraps.

The adult comedy, which revolves around Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny, celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2022.

The fan favourite was created by Parker and Matt Stone, who exec produce alongside Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II.

Best known for poking fun at celebrities – in 2023 South Park aired their sixth and final episode of season 26.

In it they made the misogynistic Influencer Andrew Tate their target and mocked him as being a “sex trafficker” in their controversial cartoon.

, it featured a character called Alonzo Fineski who was based on shamed star Andrew Tate.

who was determined to spend the holiday period partying and drinking.

But he got fed up with his “nerdy” son and friend, and pleaded with Alonzo Fineski to help him.

Randy says: “Look, I'm just trying to combat the messages that the liberal left is putting out to young men about their male instincts being toxic.

“I'm trying to show my son and his nerdy little friend what a real party is because society wants them to be ashamed of their masculine natures.”

Alonzo, clutching a gun and a cigar, replies: “I will call some friends.”

In a later scene, police officers burst into the party and one tells Alonzo to “freeze”, adding: “That's Alonzo Fineski, the Romanian sеx trafficker.”

South Park always airs a disclaimer saying all characters even if they're based on real people are fictional.

South Park will air on Comedy Central, on Wednesday July 9.
