UNDER the glare of the spring sunshine, your walls may not be looking their best.
Scuffs, spider webs and splashes of can leave their mark â and show up even more in this brighter weather.

While it can be costly to paint them, you can get wonder walls for pennies with these quick tricks.
WEBSITES: Spiders are most likely to spin their webs in the corners of ceilings and around window frames. Gently sweep them down using a cloth on a brush.
If there’s a corner particularly prone to them, you might be able to keep spiders at bay by spraying a water mix in the area.
They don’t like peppermint, citrus or vinegar, so combine any of these with water in a spray bottle for a harmless deterrent.
WATER WAYS: Give your walls a gentle clean with warm water and washing-up liquid, squeezing out your sponge so it’s not sopping wet.
This may get rid of many of the marks, especially splashes from food or drink.
Test on a small area first to check it doesn’t take the paint off the wall.
ON YOUR MARKS:Different marks call for different methods. A pencil rubber can work on general scuffs.
Failing that, gently apply a paste of bicarbonate of soda and water before wiping away.
For pen marks, apply white vinegar and water, mixed together in equal parts.
Grease stains may disappear with a little washing-up liquid and water, or apply some bicarbonate of soda and leave for 15 minutes before wiping with a damp cloth.
LITTLE SQUIRTS:You may already have items in your cleaning kit that can be effective on wall scuffs and stains.
A little bit of Cif with a damp cloth can work well on small marks.
Others swear by stain- removing sponges. You can get a four-pack of Keep It Handy ones from for £1.50, and they are also part of a two-for-£2 offer for Clubcard holders.
