Published on April 01, 2025 at 05:07 PM

Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle is ready to give opportunity to new players in the team's friendly against Russia and the four-nation tournament in June.

Chelle kept faith with majority of the regular players for last month's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

Kayode Bankole, Papa Daniel, Igoh Ogbu and Tolu Arokodare were the only new players called-up for the game.

Nigeria defeated the Amavubi of Rwanda 2-0 in Kigali, while the West Africans were held to 1-1 draw by Zimbabwe in Uyo.

The friendly against Russia will hold in Moscow on Friday, June 6.

The Reggae Boys of Jamaica and Black Stars of Ghana will also participate in the four-nation tournament which will hold in Ghana.

The friendlies will prepare the Super Eagles for the World Cup qualifiers against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic and Bafana Bafana of South Africa in September.
