The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old suspected ritualist, Salahudeen Jafar, for allegedly abducting a three-year-old girl, Fatima Bashir, in Danja Town.

According to police sources, a distress call was received around 7:00 a.m. on Friday, alerting authorities that Jafar, who hails from Mataha Village in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, had taken the young girl under suspicious circumstances.

Local residents raised an alarm and confronted Jafar, subjecting him to mob action before the police intervened.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Danja quickly mobilized a team to the scene, rescued the suspect, and took him into custody.

The Katsina police command has assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the suspect’s motive and whether he is linked to any criminal network
