Taekwondo court reportedly collapses during rainstorm, kills coach in Ilorin

Tragedy struck in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, on Monday, following a 30-minute rainstorm at the Lower Niger River Basin Authority.

An Ilorin born Taekwondo coach, identified as Musa Ismail, was reportedly killed in the rainstorm which occurred between 5:30pm and 6:pm.

The storm, it was gatheredd totally destroyed the Badminton court within the Lower Niger River Basin Authority.

Eye witness accounts informed that a section of the Badminton court collapsed and fell on the deceased coach.

The deceased coach plays and trains at the collapsed facility with friends.

Findings at Lower Niger River Basin Authority in Ilorin on Tuesday, showed that the Badminton court has been sealed with the collapsed section visible from outside the structure.

Staff of the agency were not forthcoming when approached on the development.

Efforts to reach the Public Relations Officer and the Managing Director of the authority on the incident proved abortive of press time.
