An 18-year-old, Temitope Olamoru, has been remanded for prosecution over an alleged assault involving a razor blade attack on a young girl in Lagos.

According to the Police Prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikhayere, Olamoru inflicted severe injuries on the victim, Iremide Olawale, leaving deep cuts on her face, neck, and hand.

During the hearing at the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, the defendant was charged with causing grievous harm and attempted murder. The prosecutor informed the court that the incident occurred on March 12 at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Faiusi Street, Ajegunle, in the Alakuko area of Lagos.

“The defendant unlawfully attempted to murder Iremide Olawale by attacking her with a razor blade, causing grievous injuries,”; Ikhayere stated.

The charges against Olamoru fall under Sections 230(b) and 245 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
