THE Easter Bank Holiday weekend is a chance to catch up with friends and family.

If you've not bought yours yet, we've scoured the shelves to find out the cheapest spots to find your favourite tipples.

Of course, whenever you are buying alcohol, make sure to shop around to get the best .

Price comparison websites such as Trolley.co.uk are the best for comparing product prices across the major chains.

Wine

A number of major supermarkets are running multibuy offers for customers buying wine in bulk.

, , and are offering shoppers a 25% discount on purchases of six bottles of or more.

Be aware though, you'll need to have a Clubcard or Nectar Card to get the deal from or .

It means someone spending £40 on six bottles of wine can get them for £30 instead – a £10 saving.

Majestic Wines is also offering customers buying six or more bottles discounts when purchasing online.

is selling a range of bottles of wine and Prosecco for £2.99 each, which is the cheapest we spotted of the major supermarkets.

Beer and cider

Tesco, Sainsbury's, and all have multibuy or mix and match offers on across a selection of beers.

Tesco has a buy three large bottles of or cider for £6 deal on, for Clubcard customers.

Shoppers can get three bottles of Gwynt Y Ddraig Black Dragon 500ml cider for £6 instead of £8.10 – a £2.10 saving.

Sainsbury's is also running a buy four drinks for £7 offer, including on its 500ml bottles of Fuller's Pride.

Asda has also slashed the price of a number of its multipacks as part of its Rollback scheme.

Shoppers can get a 10x440ml pack of San Miguel cans for £9.97, down from £13.

A 24x300ml crate of Budweiser beers is £14.98, down from £18.98 too.

Spirits

The least expensive place to buy your favourite spirit depends on where you're shopping.

The cheapest retailer for a 70cl bottle of Smirnoff is B&M, where it costs £15.50. You can only buy the bottle in-store though.

Meanwhile, a 70cl bottle of Bacardi white rum is cheapest at Asda, costing £15.97.

The cheapest place to get a 70cl bottle of Jack Daniel's is , which has slashed the price from £28 to £20.

You'll save even more by going for retailer's own-brand lines this Bank Holiday though.

For example, a 70cl bottle of Sainsbury's' own-brand vodka costs £12.49 – £3 cheaper than the Smirnoff from B&M.

A 70cl bottle of white rum from Aldi is £11.99 – almost £4 cheaper than the Bacardi from Asda.
