I’m not saying I made this happen by predictively mentioning Spice World 2 a few days ago, but I’m also not saying that I’m not a powerful psychic who can control reality. The Sun says that the iconic film Spice World, which came out in 1997 and starred the Spice Girls, may finally be getting a sequel for its 25th anniversary. Spice World 2: Spice Galaxy. Spice World 2: More Seasoning. Spicier World. The options are endless!
Spice World was a movie about the Spice Girls starring the Spice Girls that had no real plot and was absolutely panned by critics. It made $30 million worldwide. The Spice Girls were repped by Simon Fuller back in the day and reunited with him for their most recent comeback tour, but have again parted ways with him. Now they’re pretty much being managed by Ginger Spice, Geri Horner. Well, well, well, how the tables turn. The bitch who left the group and ruined my life in 1998 is now trying to get Spice World 2 off the ground.
Currently, Melanie Chisholm (Sporty), Emma Bunton (Baby), and Melanie Brown (Scary) are all tentatively down for the movie, and they hope that even though Posh Spice, Victoria Beckham, has been adamant that she doesn’t give a shit about the Spice Girls anymore, she may be interested in coming back for a movie and not a music tour. Sources tell The Sun that a “renowned screenwriter” has been approached about the script. The first one had aliens, boo–you don’t need Chloé Zhao for that. The source said:
“The girls have been talking about how to mark the film’s anniversary and are actively considering making a tongue-in-cheek sequel. They have approached a screenwriter who is considering working on the project and making tentative steps forward. It is still in the early stages but they are talking to established names in the business, which proves they are taking a big-screen comeback seriously.”
Welp, we know who’s going to sweep the 2022 Oscar season! Spice World 2: A Dash Of Pepper! I do really hope this movie gets made because the first one is truly an iconic piece of cinéma on par with Citizen Kane and Paddington 2. Maybe they can pivot with the second movie and go full action. They can turn the Space Force Five into the new Avengers!
I mean that guy said it himself: “Can you see the merchandising?!”
