When Netflix announced the many shows and films that would be released in April 2021, we were super ecstatic to see that the streaming platform would adapt an immensely popular anime. We’ve been counting down the days until The Way of the Househusband releases on Netflix and we can finally gladly say that the wait is over!
What time is The Way of the Househusband on Netflix?
The hilarious anime will premiere late-night tonight, April 8, and will be available to watch only on Netflix. You can tune in at 12:01 a.m. PT tonight, or for those on the East Coast who happen to be up at 3:00 a.m. ET, you can check out this new anime.
There is no confirmation from the streaming service regarding how many chapters the pilot season of the show will have, however, it is rumored that there will be a total of 10 episodes of The Way of the Househusband.
What is The Way of the Househusband about?
The Way of the Househusband is a comical anime about how a former ferocious gang member turns into an absolute sweetheart of a loving husband. Though he has constant reminders of his revered past life, Tatsu would rather take cute pictures of food he makes for his wife.
Here’s the official synopsis of the anime:
This world-class househusband was once a feared legendary member of the yakuza! “The Way of the Househusband” is the long-awaited anime adaptation of the cozy gangster comedy manga about “The Immortal Dragon,” a former yakuza member whose incredible feats are still talked about in the underworld, spending his daily life as a househusband!
The manga (which is what the anime was adapted from) Gokushufudou is insanely popular in Japan, and fans of the show have been waiting for anime since the manga first was published back in August 2018. Well, it looks like their prayers have been answered!
The Way of the Househusband trailer
The official trailer for the show dropped back in March and we’ve got it right here just for you below.
Sewing clothes, making hamburgers, and doing laundry; yep, this former gang member has certainly retired.
If the voice of Tatsu sounds a little familiar to you, it’s because his voice actor is none other than Kenjirou Tsuda, who also voiced Monspeet from The Seven Deadly Sins and Koji Nagasaki from the Netflix anime Devilman Crybaby.
With a funny premise, great animation, and Kenjirou’s superb voice-acting skills, we can tell that this anime will definitely be a good one.
