This Morning star reveals she TURNED DOWN Celebrity Big Brother despite ITV bosses' big money offer

A THIS Morning star has admitted she declined the chance to star in the latest Celebrity Big Brother – despite the huge cash payout.

The presenter, who burst onto our screens in 2002 in the third series ofBig Brother, has revealed she's not up for revisiting the past.

Speaking to Gaby Roslin on her Magic Radio show, This Morning host Alison Hammond said ‘she was so grateful' to the show.

Asked if she would do it again, she answered: “I’ve just got asked and I said no. They asked me and I said no I wouldn't do it again. I just think I've done it, haven't I?”

She recalled: “It was 23 ish years ago. It was 2002. I was the second person to be evicted.

“It's unbelievable, when you look back, that chain of events was so correct for me.

“If I'd have won it, I don't think my life would have gone in the same direction. I'm so grateful for Big Brother.”

Fans commented on social media: “Glad she said no. The television industry has changed so much since then. You can lose everything on shows like Big Brother.”

“Never do it again when you've got nothing to gain and everything to lose,” a second user agreed.

“Don’t ever do it again Alison, leave the magic how it was,” a third noted.

Known for being one of most iconic BB series ever, her season launched stars likeRadio 1presenterAdele Roberts, TV personalityKate Lawler and the lateJade Goody.

Surprisingly, she only managed 15 days in the house before becoming the third housemate to be evicted.

OG Big Brother fans will remember the iconic moment when she broke a wooden picnic bench after jumping up and down on it.

“I’m really sorry,”; a guilty Alison confessed in the diary room. “I could probably bend it back?”;

Shortly after leaving the Big Brother house, she landed the job of the show's entertainment reporter in 2003.

As well as her regular hosting gigs, Alison has appeared on many popular primetime shows.

She was a judge on theBBCcompetitionI Can See Your Voice and also used to regularly appear onAnt & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

ButAlison got her big break on the show when she landedthe This Morning hostingFriday gig along withDermot O'Learyin 2020.

Alison made a huge impression on Channel 4 bosses when she appeared on Celebrity Bake Off in 2020, alongside Joe Sugg, Alex Jones and James Blunt.

In fact, she made such an impact on the show's producersthey offered her the job of co-hostin 2023.

Following the death of Paul O'Grady, Alison stepped in as host of For The Love of Dogs.

An eight-part series titled Alison Hammond‘s Big Weekend will premiere on BBC One next year, as she spends 48 hours with a celebrity in a bid to really get to know them.
