Transfer: Belgian club, Genk rule out Onuachu January exit

Belgian Pro League side, KRC Genk won’t entertain any offers for forward, Paul Onuachu in January.

Premier League club, Aston Villa are reportedly set to table a bid for Onuachu during the winter transfer window.

The Smurfs valued the Nigeria international around €25m.

According to Belgian news hub, website, voetbalkrant.com, Genk are reluctant to allow the striker leave as they are chasing their first league title since 2019.

Genk currently occupy top spot on the Belgian Pro League table with 46 points from 17 games.

The 28-year-old has scored 13 goals in 14 league appearances for the Smurfs this season.

Onuachu has been Genk’s top scorer for the past two seasons.

He scored 33 goals in 38 league appearances for the club two seasons ago.

Last season, Onuachu registered 21 goals in 35 league outings.
