Transfer: Genk Chief Conde refuses to rule out Onuachu’s January exit

Published on December 13, 2022 at 08:06 PM

Genk head of football, Dmitri Conde is uncertain if Nigeria forward, Paul Onuachu will remain at the club at the end of the winter transfer window.

Onuachu has been consistently linked with a move away from the club following his impressive displays.

The 28-year-old netted 33 times in 38 league appearances in the 2020/21 season.

Last season, the striker scored 21 goals in 33 league appearances for the Smurfs.

Onuachu has already registered 14 goals in 15 league appearances for the former Belgian Pro League champions this term.

With Premier League and German clubs already circling around the player, Conde admitted it will be difficult to keep hold of the hitman.

“Onuachu’s situation remains something special,”; De Conde told Het Laastste Nieuws as per Voetbal Primeur.

“At his age, you never know what will happen. If an offer comes, we can’t just block it. But then Wouter and I will do everything we can to convince him to stay.”;

Onuachu is valued at around €25m by Genk.
