Transfer: Xavi, Barcelona board clash over Neymar’s return this summer

Published on August 08, 2023 at 07:34 AM

There is a difference of opinion between Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez and the board over a possible return for Neymar, ESPN reports.

Neymar is keen to rejoin Barca this summer, but there is an internal debate at the Nou Camp around the forward’s signing.

Some are in support of the move and others – including coach Xavi Hernandez – believe the Brazilian would not fit into the current team.

Neymar left in 2017 and could yet return to Barcelona, but it would be a very difficult deal both financially, and because of divided opinion over his suitability.

The 31-year-old has reportedly told Paris Saint-Germain he wants to leave this summer.
