But there's nothing worse when those bright petals start to droop and lose their brilliance.

We also want to make sure they to make sure we get plenty of bang for our buck.

Some common hacks to keep tulips healthy is keeping them away from direct sunlight, in fresh water and away from heat source.

There are also some lesser known tricks to keep the tulips blooming.

Cleaning hack extraordinaire, Georgia who is known as Clean With Georgia to her almost 136,000 TikTok followers has shared her ingenious tips.

Georgia explained that a nifty way to say “goodbye to sad tulips” was to add a couple of coins, copper or copper-plated ones, into the vase. Some 1p or 2p coins are best for this hack.

In her video explaining the hack, which has had more than 114,000 views, she shared a before and after image of her tulips which after a few hours seemed invigorated and back to new.

The copper works as an algicide — algae remover — because algae can clog the stem's ability to absorb water, according to Orchid Republic.

Using copper coins, or any copper product for that matter, in your tulip vase is just one of many ways to keep those flowers lasting longer.

Some of the other ways include cutting the stems at a 45-degree angle, which helps to make sure stems are exposed to the maximum amount of water, and not overcrowding the vase or putting them into a too small vase.

The reason for this is tulips are one of the few flowers that still grow after they've been cut, so will need plenty of space to branch out, according to florist, Bryony Mae.

Alex Biggart, Brand Manager at 123 Flowers, also shared his tulip-saving hacks.

“Take a toothpick to create a small hole underneath the flower head,” he explained.

“This allows air to escape when the flower drinks water so they don’t droop over at the top.”

You should also change the water in the vase every two to three days.

And to give the flowers an extra boost, add ice cubes and a teaspoon of sugar to the water.
