Troops neutralize 3 bandits, destroy camps in Taraba military raid

Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS) have neutralized three bandits and dismantled several makeshift camps during a decisive military raid in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.

This was contained in a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X on Sunday.

According to the post, the operation, conducted on Saturday was part of OPERATION LAFIYA JAMAA which is a broader offensive aimed at eradicating banditry and restoring security across the state.

“Advancing into the Achalle and Chibi areas, the troops encountered armed resistance from the bandits, who attempted to flee upon sighting the military.

“In the ensuing firefight, three bandits were neutralized, while security forces seized two motorcycles, an AK-47 magazine, and 13 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition,”; the post read.

Additionally, the troops combed the Dutsen Zaki and Achalle axis, where over 70 criminal camps have been dismantled in recent weeks.

No human activity was observed in the area, signaling the effectiveness of sustained military operations.

Commending the troops for their resilience, the Commander of 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, assured residents that security forces remain committed to ensuring no safe haven for criminal elements in Taraba.

He urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information to aid ongoing operations.
