Troops rescue prominent Katsina judge, repel bandit attack in Katsina

Troops have successfully repelled a bandit attack in Mahuta Village, located in Dandume Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State, and rescued a prominent local judge, Mr. Rabiu Tukur.

The incident, which occurred on the night of Tuesday saw armed bandits storm the village around 11:55 p.m., abducting six residents, including Mr. Tukur, a 49-year-old judge at the Lower Sharia Court in Dandume.

The successful rescue operation was reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the information in a post on Wednesday on X.

According to Makama, the troops engaged in a fierce confrontation with the bandits, managing to free Judge Tukur without harm.

However, the remaining five victims are still being held captive, and efforts to locate and rescue them are ongoing.
