Trump rages at 'deliberately bad' official portrait...while 'Obama looked great'
A BRITISH artist who painted Donald Trump's bizarre portrait has revealed the real reason behind the president's strange appearance.
The Don launched a scathing rant over the picture and claimed it is the “worst” presidential portrait which has been “purposefully distorted”.
Painter Sarah Boardman, born in England, revealed the reason why her painting of Trump looked the way it didTrump launched a scathing rant on the picture, demanding it be taken downThe Gallery of Presidents in the Colorado State Capitol building, Denver, USA
The president even compared his portrait to former presidentBarack Obama's, which he said looked “wonderful” while his painting was terrible.
The painting is currently on display at the Colorado State Capitol – and is different to the official presidential portrait that is inside the White House.
It was made by a British-born artist named Sarah Boardman and was unveiled in 2019.
During the inauguration, Boardman revealed the real reason behind Trump's strange appearance in the picture.
She said Trump would eventually be replaced by a new president, so he needs to “look neutral” in the history books.
The artist said: “My portrait of President Trump has been called thoughtful, non-confrontational, not angry, not happy, not tweeting.
“In five, 10, 15, 20 years, he will be another president on the wall who is only historical background and he needs to look neutral.”
She also said in an interview that she always takes personal feelings toward any subject out of her art so she can “leave those emotions at the door”.
When asked about critics of her work, she responded: “Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and opposition is one aspect of that, all presidents from the first to the last are entitled to have their portraits in the Rotunda as it is the ‘Gallery of Presidents'.”
“Being president is the qualification for entry into the gallery, and I respect that qualification on face value as I did with the portrait of President Obama,” she said.

Authorities first commissioned to paint former president Barrack Obama's portrait for Colorado's State Capitol after she won the nationwide “Call for Artists” put out by Denver State.
Broadman's online bio explains that she began formal studies in Germany as an art apprentice, spending four years there before teaching.
He bio says: “Sarah has always been passionate about painting portraits, being particularly intrigued by the depth and character found deeper in her subjects.”
It continues: “Sarah believes that the ultimate challenge is to capture the ‘personality, character and soul' of an individual in a two-dimensional format.
“She uses a combination of realism and painterly aspects designed to draw the viewer [a] into piece.”

Broadman's work includes portraits of other presidents such as Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.
But she has a wide range of styles, as her work ranges from presidential portraits – all the way to dogs wearing funny hats.
But Trump called her qualifications into question after he saw the artist's work.
He raged on Truth Social: “Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves, but the one inColorado, in the State Capitol, put up by the Governor, along with all other Presidents, was purposefully distorted to a level that even I, perhaps, have never seen before.”
He added that he is trying to get the picture taken down, as no picture would be better than having that one hung up.
The president added: “I am speaking on their behalf to the Radical Left Governor, Jared Polis, who is extremely weak on Crime, in particular with respect to Tren de Aragua, which practically took over Aurora (Don’t worry, we saved it!), to take it down.
The president, 78, scowled for the camera in the brightly lit snap while wearing a blue suit over a white shirt and blue tie while sporting an American flag in his lapel.
It did not take long for people to compare Trump’s portrait to his mug shot from August 2023, when he turned himself in after being indicted on conspiracy and racketeering charges over allegations that he tried to overturn the 2020 election.
The pictures contrasted significantly to his first presidential portrait from 2017 in which he boasted a gleeful smile.
