Two men have been injured following a shooting at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia, on Saturday night.

The Norfolk Police Department confirmed that the incident occurred at around 11:30 pm on a street that runs through the university campus.

One of the men was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the other sustained non-life-threatening wounds.

Police did not provide further details but stated that the shooting remains under active investigation.

It is also unclear whether any students were involved in the incident or if a suspect has been identified.
