Two rescued as three-storey building collapses in Lagos

Two individuals were rescued on Sunday, following the collapse of a three-storey building under construction at 4, Agarawu Street, Lagos Island.

The incident occurred in the afternoon, trapping the victims beneath the debris before they were pulled out by emergency responders and immediately taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development, stating that no fatalities were recorded.

He added that the area had been secured by emergency personnel and normalcy had returned to the neighbourhood.

According to Hundeyin, relevant agencies have been notified and are expected to commence a thorough investigation into the cause of the structural failure.
