U-20 AFCON: Friendly matches key to adequate preparation — Flying Eagles boss, Bosso

Published on December 09, 2022 at 02:02 PM

Flying Eagles head coach, Ladan Bosso has claimed the quality of teams they engaged in friendly games is not important at the moment.

The WAFU B champions are in camp in preparation for the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Bosso’s boys have won all four friendlies against non league sides since they set up camp in Abuja last week.

The Flying Eagles scored 25 goals and conceded just one.

Many have questioned the quality of opposition, but Bosso insisted that preparing his team for the task ahead is the most important thing at the moment.

“Before we commence camping, I have arranged for friendly matches, forget the team and calibre of players they are playing against, the most important thing is that we are preparing for a tournament and its about (number of) matches,”;Bosso was quoted by BSN Sports.

”; I have picked one or two players from the teams we’ve played against and they are to join the team by Monday.”;

The 2023 U-20 AFCON will be staged in Egypt from February 18 to March 12.
