UCL: Frank Leboeuf singles out three Chelsea stars for praise after latest win

Published on October 07, 2022 at 03:47 AM

Former Chelsea centre-back, Frank Leboeuf, has singled out Mason Mount, Reece James and Thiago Silva for praise following the Bleus’ Champions League 3-0 victory over AC Milan on Wednesday.

Leboeuf believes the trio did very well against AC Milan at Stamford Bridge.

He, however, lauded the west London club for being less boring against the Serie A champions but feels they’re still ‘far from perfect’ under their manager Graham Potter.

“Last week I was bored [with Chelsea’s performance], the week before I was really bored, and the week before [that] I was still [bored],”; Leboeuf told ESPN.

“The only game I have enjoyed from Chelsea since the beginning of the season was against Spurs in August.

“I have to enjoy that win [against Milan] because for the first time, I saw something.

“Mason Mount getting back to his best, Reece James scoring a fantastic goal on top of performing very well and Thiago Silva was very good.

“At the end of the day, when you win 3-0 in the Champions League – OK, yes, Milan had some mini injuries – but with the job done, you have to enjoy it.

“It is a little bit unfair to say it was flat. It is not perfect, it is far from perfect. But I finally saw something a little more enjoyable.

“It is enough for me to be happy until the return game next week.”;
