Published on November 03, 2022 at 08:27 AM

Paris Saint-Germain striker, Kylian Mbappe has become the youngest French player to hit the 40-goal mark in Champions League football.

Mbappe opened the scoring in PSG’s 2-1 win over Juventus on Wednesday night.

Aged 23 years and 10 months, he became the youngest Frenchman in the history of the competition to notch up his 40th goal.

Thierry Henry, the previous youngest footballer to reach the landmark, scored 50 Champions League goals, while Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is well out in front on 86 goals.

Mbappe broke onto the scene as a 17-year-old at Monaco in the 2016/2017 season.

He netted six goals in six starts for Leonardo Jardim̢۪s side that campaign, before he secured his move to PSG.

Mbappe is already up to seven goals in just six appearances so far this campaign.
