UCL: Real Madrid will come back against Arsenal – Marcelo

Published on April 14, 2025 at 07:59 PM

Real Madrid legend Marcelo is confident that the current team will overturn a 3-0 deficit against Arsenal on Wednesday in their Champions League quarter-final second leg in Spain.

Declan Rice scored a pair of magnificent free kicks as the Gunners won the first leg convincingly at the Emirates last week.

The result leaves the current holders of the trophy with a mountain to climb at the Bernabéu.

But Marcelo, who won five Champions League titles with the La Liga giants, has insisted that there is no task too big for the club.

“You can never write off Real Madrid,” Marcelo said in an interview with ESPN on Monday.

“Although three goals is a lot of goals, but I am always thinking about Real Madrid and have a lot of faith that they'll come back. Real Madrid is Real Madrid and they always come back.”

Ahead of the game against Arsenal, Carlo Ancelotti's men beat Alavés 1-0 in an away league clash on Sunday.
