UCL: They’re on right path – Joe Cole names club to win trophy

Former Chelsea winger, Joe Cole has tipped Paris Saint-Germain to win the UEFA Champions League trophy this season.

Cole believes the French Ligue 1 champions are on the right path to win the Europe top-flight competition this season.

The Englishman spoke after PSG booked their place in the Champions League semi-final stage.

Recall that PSG qualified for the Champions League last-4 after beating Aston Villa 5-4 on aggregate.

Luis Enrique's men won the quarter-final first leg 3-1 in Paris last week.

However, they were defeated 3-2 against Aston Villa in the second leg at Villa Park on Tuesday night.

PSG will now face Arsenal or Real Madrid in the semis, while Barcelona, who defeated Dortmund over the both legs, will face Inter Milan or Bayern Munich.

Speaking on TNT Sports, Cole said: “We all remember the PSG side of a few years ago.

“They were winning league titles but you can’t win a tournament like this playing like that.

“Credit to the people at PSG who came together and said they were going in another direction.

“They are all on the right path and I really, really fancy them to win it. I really do. I am doubling down.”
