UCL: ‘We were lucky it was only three’ – Bellingham on Real Madrid’s defeat to Arsenal

Real Madrid midfielder, Jude Bellingham, has admitted they were “lucky” not to lose by more than three goals to Arsenal.

Los Blancos were thrashed 3-0 by the Gunners in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday night.

Declan Rice put in a man-of-the-matchperformancec with two stunning free kicks in the second half.

Mikel Merino added a third as the Gunners pulled off a sensational result at the Emirates.

After the game, Bellingham said that the LaLiga champions were completely outplayed by Mikel Arteta's team.

He said: “We’re lucky to get away with only three. We were nowhere near it.

“That's the fact and Arsenal were really good. I know two of their goals were free-kicks but they could have had way more.

“There is a second leg and that's what we're holding on to.”
