UCL: What I told Mbappe before Arsenal 3-0 win over Real Madrid – Thierry Henry

Published on April 09, 2025 at 12:39 PM

Arsenal legend,Thierry Henry, has revealed what he told Kylian Mbappe before the Gunners Champions League quarter-final clash with Real Madrid on Tuesday night.

Henry was at the Emirates Stadium when Arsenal thrashed Real Madrid 3-0 as part of his presenting duties for CBS Sports.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona attacker was caught sharing a moment with Mbappe before kick-off.

The striker was seen jogging over to Henry and hugging him.

Henry later told viewers about what he told Mbappe then on CBS Sports.

“Tonight he is playing against the team I love the most in the world. But I don't wish anything bad on him but tonight I said to him ‘please, I don't want to see you.'”

Just as Henry had wished, Mbappe failed to impact proceedings with just two shots, one of which required a save from Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.
