A YOUNG couple has revealed how they ditched the UK for sunny Australia and still saved cash.

Gee Knight and her partner moved across the world with their 18-month-old toddler to begin a new life.

Taking to social media, she shared the move in day to their new home in Perth.

She said: “Myself, my partner and our 18-month-old boy have just moved from the UK to Australia.

“We arrived at our new rental and we are so in love with it.”

The pair had only been in Perth for four days when they secured their new home.

She revealed that they had sold their bungalow in the UK to pay for the cost of moving down under.

The incredible house was much bigger than any house they had lived in back in the UK so it gave her toddler and dog room to play.

The large house also came with a massive garden that stretched out past the house.

But if they ever did get bored they were also close to the beach to enjoy the sunny weather.

Gee added: “The house that we owned back in England was a two bedroom bungalow, so we're very lucky that we've got so much more space.

“The kitchen is just huge and the garden is just a dream.”

The couple were waiting for their furniture to be moved from England to Australia, but now that their house was so big, they were excited to fill it up with new homeware.

The place also came with a utility room which Gee was thrilled about.

“The thought of having a separate space to wash your clothes is actually just a dream to me,” she added.

The clip quickly went viral on her TikTok account @gee_knight with over 78k views and 3,000 likes.

Moving house hacks

1. Declutter Before You Pack

Sort through your belongings and get rid of anything you no longer need. Donate, sell, or recycle items to lighten your load.

2. Create an Inventory

Make a list of all your items. This helps keep track of everything and ensures nothing gets lost in the move.

3. Use Quality Packing Materials

Invest in sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape. This will protect your belongings during the move.

4. Label Everything

Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This makes unpacking much easier and more organized.

5. Pack a ‘First Day' Box

Include essentials like toiletries, a change of clothes, snacks, and important documents. This will keep you from rummaging through boxes on your first day.

6. Take Photos of Electronics Setup

Before unplugging your electronics, take photos of the wiring setup. This will make it easier to reconnect everything at your new place.

7. Use Suitcases for Heavy Items

Pack books and other heavy items in rolling suitcases. This makes them easier to transport and reduces the risk of injury.

8. Colour-Code Your Boxes

Use different coloured stickers or markers for each room. This will help movers quickly identify where each box should go in your new home.

People were quick to congratulate the couple on their new adventure.

One person wrote: “This looks like Waikiki area, you’ll love the beaches and cafes etc in the general area.”

Another commented: “it looks lovely. You did amazing to get a rental so quickly. Congratulations and welcome to sunny Perth. A wonderful place to bring up children.”

“Wow, we are hopefully moving next year so I will be living vicariously through you in the meantime,” penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “Ahh I am living through your account rn! Praying we’re able to immigrate here one day.”

“You don't need to fill the space with stuff, fill it with memories and spend your money on experiences,”; claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “Good luck, hope it all goes well for you.”
