US President Donald Trump on Friday said that Ukraine under the leadership of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not yet signed a deal on rare earth minerals with the US.

Trump, in a post on his Truth Social account, also voiced hope it will be signed “immediately.”

The US leader said, “Ukraine, headed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has not signed the final papers on the very important Rare Earths Deal with the United States.

“It is at least three weeks late. Hopefully, it will be signed IMMEDIATELY,” he said.

Trump also said that work on the peace deal between Russia and Ukraine is “going smoothly.”

“SUCCESS seems to be in the future!” Trump added.

This is coming less than few hours after Trump said that amid the country's ongoing war with Ukraine.

Trump, who made the statement during a wide-ranging interview with TIME magazine, insisted that Zelenskyy understands the situation.
