Published on April 10, 2025 at 03:31 PM

Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong says the Unity Cup tournament is a unique opportunity for the team to prepare adequately for their remaining 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The three-time African champions will compete at the 2025 edition of the Unity Cup alongside Ghana, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago.

Éric Chelle will play two games in the invitational tournament.

The Super Eagles will come up against eternal rivals Ghana in the semi-final.

They will play in the third-place match or final depending on the outcome of the game against Ghana.

“This is a great tournament for us to reunite and continue strategizing for the upcoming World Cup qualifying games,” Troost-Ekong told thenff.com.
