US fast food chain with ‘burgers to die for’ to open ‘biggest and best’ UK site yet – plus it’s giving out free food

A US fast food chain has said it will be opening its “biggest” location yet in the UK – and customers can get their hands on free burgers.

Popular burger joint Black Tap will be opening a new venue in Soho, , on April 17.

It said the restaurant would be its “biggest, most ambitious location yet”.

To mark the occasion it will be handing out 100 burgers for free on opening day – and it's first come first served.

fans will need to queue up to get the tasty deal when the restaurant opens at 11am.

They'll be able to get their hands on the chain's All American Burger, which has a thick 100% beef patty, cheese and Black Tap's special sauce.

Veggies and vegans can get the Falafel Burger instead, made with a falafel patty, vegan feta, pickled onions, hummus, tahini, coriander and parsley on a whole wheat vegan bun.

The chain has 23 locations across the globe, including seven in the US and one in London's Westfield Stratford.

The Soho venue will be its second restaurant in the UK.

Reviewers at its Westfield restaurant say the “burgers are to die for” and the food is “outstanding”.

One rave reviewer wrote: “YOU HAVE TO GO HERE!!… A slice of authentic America that cannot be missed.

“The food is unreal and the shakes not only taste great but are what dreams are made of!”

Diners at the new restaurant will be able to try new London-exclusive creations, including the Big Apple Shake and the Londoner Burger.

The Big Apple Shake has a cream cheese frosted rim, classic graham cracker crumble, a towering slice of New York cheesecake, and a whole funfair-style toffee apple.

The Londoner Burger comes with a premium thick beef patty, stinking bishop cheese, Sammy Smith's apple cider jam, watercress, radish and Dijon mustard vinaigrette.

The new 5,000 sq ft restaurant will be set across two floors and has a ground floor bar for cocktails as well as a basement dining space.

Chris Barish, chairman of Black Tap, said: “Opening in London's Soho feels like coming full circle for us.

“We started as a small 15-seat restaurant in New York's Soho a decade ago, and now we're bringing that same energy and passion for craft burgers to London.”

The US restaurant chains that have landed in the UK

The move comes as more American fast food chains have been making their way to the UK.

Huge brand first crossed the Atlantic in 2021 and it now has 50 stores in the UK, with plans to expand further.
