US: ‘Lunatic’ – Trump ‘mistakenly’ attacks Republican John James over Thanedar’s impeachment move

Published on April 30, 2025 at 05:58 AM

President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has mistakenly attacked his ally and Republican lawmaker, John James.

He called the Republican he endorsed a “lunatic”; he had never heard of.

Trump supporters were probably aware that the 78-year-old president had confused James with Representative Shri Thanedar.

Thanedar, the Michigan Democrat, had introduced articles of impeachment against Trump on Monday.

Trump mistakenly tore into Representative James, telling the crowd that the Michigan lawmaker, whom he endorsed and campaigned with, was “a lunatic.”;

“Some guy that I never heard of, John James. Is he a congressman? This guy? He said, he said, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, I am going to start the impeachment of Donald Trump,’”; Trump told the crowd.

Just hours before President Trump marked his first 100 days in office, Thanedar of the Democratic Party filed the first seven articles of impeachment against the U.S. President.

However, the congressman’s impeachment effort is unlikely to advance with Republicans controlling both chambers in Congress.
