US Senator, Mike Lee mourns first black Republican congresswoman, Mia Love

United States lawmaker, Senator Mike Lee has expressed sadness over the unfortunate death of first black Republican congresswoman, Mia Love.

DAILY POST reports that Love passed away on Saturday after a prolonged battle with brain cancer, the family confirmed on Sunday night.

Reacting, Senator Lee, in a post on his verified X handle, solicited prayers for the family of the deceased.

The lawmaker, who described Love as a patriot, prayed that the “great things she worked for in this life” may inspire the people of Utah for the betterment of all Americans.

He wrote, “Please join me in praying for the Love family and remembering Mia Love as a friend, trailblazer, congresswoman, wife, mother, and patriot.

“May she rest in peace, and may the great things she worked for in this life inspire the people of Utah—and all Americans—to better serve each other, our families, and our country”.

The Governor of Utah, Spencer Cox has also confirmed the development, describing Love as “a true trailblazer and visionary leader”.
