President of the United States of America, Donald Trump has rejected European Union, EU's ‘zero-zero' tariff proposal.

EU said on Monday that it had on industry, noting that it is ready for negotiation with the Donald Trump administration.

The president of the EU, Ursula von der Leyen, disclosed this in a viral video released by Libs of TikTok on Monday.

According to her, the EU is prepared to respond to Trump's tariff through countermeasures aimed at defending its interests.

However, President Trump did not appear keen on the offer, telling reporters zero-zero tariffs were not going to happen.

According to Trump, selling energy to the European Union would be a key focus as his administration seeks to eliminate a trade deficit with the bloc.

“The European Union’s been very bad to us,”; Trump told reporters on Monday, accusing European nations of not buying enough US goods.

“They’re going to have to buy their energy from us, because they need it and they’re going to have to buy it from us.

“They can buy it – we can knock off $350 billion in one week.”
